THE WINE ENTHUSIAST HAS RATED THE 2013 RHEINGAU RIESLING WITH 90 POINTS.
"Layers of luscious mango, tangerine and pineapple mark this gloriously
fruity, forward Riesling. It’s unabashedly plump, but delicate sweetness
and staccato strikes of lemon and lime lend balance. It shows
remarkable elegance for something so accessible and irresistibly
gulpable" JUNE 2015
ABOUT THE REGION
Although relatively small, the Rheingau, with only three percent of the
total German vineyard area, has been one of the leading regions in terms
of innovations in wine making and is home to many wine producers of
international reputation. The region remains true to its roots, with
about 80% of the area under vine planted to Riesling and a large part of
the balance covered by Spätburgunder, a.k.a. Pinot Noir.
ABOUT THE WINERY
From our roots as a small Weingut on the Mosel to a leading exporter, we
offer a complete range of German wines - from classic
vineyard-designated Qualitäts- and Prädikatswein in traditional
packaging to varietal wines in both upscale and upbeat packaging from
the Mosel and Rhine region.
In 1897, at the age of 27, Leonard Kreusch, founded the family winery
and began producing wines commercially. Upon the repeal of Prohibition,
the family began export of their wines to the U.S. In 1950, Leonard
Kreusch, Inc. was founded as a corporation in the state of New Jersey to
serve as sole importer and distributor of the brand. Over 60 years
later - now in the fourth generation - the company remains family-owned
and operated and continues their mission of offering outstanding quality
and value in, not only German wines, but also those from Europe’s best
regions.
Our production and bottling capabilities enable us to offer our
customers a full spectrum of product selection. Whether high volume – up
to 9,000 bottles per hour – or smaller lots of select cuvées of
Prädikatswein, we have the capacity to ensure the quality and service
our customers have come to expect.
